Ocean Hummingbirds

Today, I saw legions of flying fish zip lining across the open waters. These creatures are quite marvelous. I have seen them glide over 50m across the ocean. Quite impressive for a fish with modified fins! Jeremy from University College London took fantastic images of these elusive ocean hummingbirds that I am sharing on my post today.

It is pretty cool to see how these fish propel themselves in the air with their tail and then uses their modified fins to glide above the ocean.

I hope there will be more than just flying fish out here in the Indian Ocean.
